This was my 4th time as part of the Fringe Family. I was asked to take the role of Assistant Head of Sound. I assisted in the design and installation of some 10 venues across Edinburgh. During the Fringe I was the point of call for Technical Support. While dealing with crew management and scheduling as well as liaising with incoming productions. As part of this project I had a crew of 20 under me.
Directly after Glasgow I was again asked by Sports Technology to continue on to their next Project as of Sole Project Manager for all Audio Systems. Which saw us take on the difficult task of delivering one of the fastest games ever. With still the same high standard expected by ST and our Client. After liaising with multiple suppliers and checking kit lists for 21 venues, which amounted to over 80 Systems. I then produced all the paperwork including CADs, System Line Drawings, Desk Plots and ArrayCals. I also Personally contacted and booked all the Crew and planned the distribution of the crew for the Project. The crew under me was around 40 many of which I had used on several Games before. 4 of this crew were AV Cluster Managers.
During my 2 seasons at Wexford I was tasked with looking after all aspects of Audio and AV. This involved re-installing the Coms system, upgrading the existing DSM cameras as well as looking after the Orchestra Pit and designing and operating the sound effects. I was the only person dedicated to this role.
After the success of Sochi I was asked if I would continue on with Sports Technology and take on the role of Sole Project Manager for all Audio Systems across the games. This saw me take more of a role in the design aspect of the project. For this project I had a crew of 34 working under me and we delivered the installation of overlay sound systems into over 20 venues.
I was asked by Dimension Audio to look after their audio installations at Twickenham, The Home of Rugby. This consisted of installations in 7 corporate hospitality rooms. Which provided pre-match commentary and post match entertainment for corporate clients such as Land Rover, Master Card, DHL and Société Générale. This ran from the Opening Ceremony right through to the Final.
For the London Olympics I was asked to take on the task of designing, installing and commissioning of the evacuation systems. This consisted of 13 venues across London as well as 3 on the Olympic Park itself. This was an untried original system that debuted at the London games. It was developed in conjunction with Cooper Fire Safety, to install zoned evacuation systems for the public in the case of an emergency. As part of this project I had a crew of 14 under me, working under tight deadlines we managed to install all equipment in time for official commissioning and testing with all venues opening on time.
Being hired by Plus4Audio I was part of the team that saw the installation of the equipment and then the smooth running of the live shows. .
This role saw me work alongside the design team to install the world premier of the adaptation Roddy Doyles book. As with any installation into the West End, this project brought several challenges that myself and the team had to overcome. With the support of the design team and the suppliers (Sonalyst) I dealt with every aspect of the Project from conception to the implementation of the system. As part of this project I had a crew of 10 under me.
This was my second time being involved with the production. This involved running the Prep and rehearsals at 3 Mills Studios and the European Tour. I oversaw and coordinated almost every move for the duration of the tour. This was toured in many notable venues around the UK and Europe. Each of which brought a new dynamic which had to make everything as flexible as possible. For this production I had a crew of 10 under me.
After the success of London 2012 I was asked by Sports Technology to join the Project team for the Games in Russia. This saw me take the role of Project Manager of the Audio Systems in the Athletes Villages, this saw the installation of multiple venues ranging from Concert Stages, Gyms to Press Conference Rooms. All in all, there were over 15 systems spread across 3 Village complexes. For this project I had a crew of 20 under me.
